World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA)
The primary purpose of this international network of associations and organizations is to advance the quality and availability of small animal veterinary medicine and surgery through exchange of scientific information between its members. WSAVA’s annual Congress proceedings are available to veterinary schools, libraries and individuals, and are a valuable source of the most up-to-date information on medicine and surgery. WSAVA also provides veterinary continuing education in the emerging countries of Eastern Europe and is active in the documentation and control of hereditary defects in small animals throughout the world.
American Feed Industry Association (AFIA)
A national organization, the AFIA represents the business, legislative and regulatory interests of the animal feed and pet food industries and their suppliers. Its members include more than 35 state, regional, national and international associations. Together with its Industry Committees, the AFIA works with Congress, and federal and state agencies to ensure key industry issues are voiced and is committed to inform its members of important industry developments.
Animal Health Institute (AHI)
The Animal Health Institute is the U.S. trade association representing manufacturers of animal health care products - the pharmaceuticals, vaccines and feed additives used to produce meat, milk, poultry and eggs. AHI works with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the Environmental Protection Agency, to review and respond to regulatory issues and through the International Federation for Animal Health (IFAH), it monitors global food safety regulations relating to trade. Using various communication tools, the AHI shares industry, food safety and drug usage information with veterinarians so that animal owners can use medicines safely.
