Cynthia Clendenin, VMD
Dr. Clendenin, a 2006 graduate of University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, also holds a Bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Chicago. Before joining AlcheraBio in July of 2007, she completed a small animal medical-surgical internship at Garden State Veterinary Specialists, a prestigious, multidisciplinary emergency and referral practice in New Jersey.

In 2004, Dr. Clendenin worked in the laboratory of Dr. Margret L. Casal at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine where she conducted research related to identifying the causative genes of lupoid dermatosis in the German shorthaired pointer. Prior to that she managed a facility that provided transgenic and gene-targeted mice to molecular biologists. Dr. Clendenin’s volunteer work has included helping prepare specimens for the permanent collection of the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago.

Dr. Clendenin is a Senior Clinical Research Coordinator at AlcheraBio
