Linda Rhodes is the founder of AlcheraBio. She has extensive experience in human and animal drug discovery and development, physiology, molecular biology, and clinical veterinary medicine. Her background makes her uniquely qualified to identify and maximize drug development opportunities for all species.
Dr. Rhodes is the AlcheraBio managing member with overall responsibility for activities related to conduct of GCP trials.
She received her VMD degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, and her BA from Sarah Lawrence College. After her veterinary clinical experience, she completed her PhD in physiology at Cornell University with funding from the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Rhodes then held a post-doctoral position in molecular biology at the State University of New York at Albany.
She has worked for major pharmaceutical companies, including 10 years at Merck and Merial, published her research in peer-reviewed journals, and presented her research at international meetings. In 2002 she was named to the adjunct faculty of the graduate program in animal science at Rutgers University and has designed and taught a graduate seminar on veterinary pharmaceutical development. In 2007 Dr. Rhodes received an award from the Rutgers Graduate Program in Animal Science in recognition of her work in developing and obtaining corporate sponsorship of her seminar. She is a member of the American Academy of Veterinary Pharmacology and Therapeutics.
Since founding AlcheraBio, Dr. Rhodes has contributed to AnimalPharm newsletter and spoken at a number of international animal health meetings. She was appointed to the board of directors of Immucell Corporation, an animal health company in Portland ME, in 2006. Dr. Rhodes served as a judge for the 2007 AnimalPharm Awards.
